A PENSIONER found wandering along the A6 near Chorley in the early hours of Saturday, August 17, is back home following an article in the Star.
Sixty-five-year-old William Woods told Chorley police that he came from an address in Prescot Road, St Helens, but when officers checked the address it turned out that the house had been demolished.
After an appeal in the Star, Chorley police received a phone call from a homeless hostel in the St Helens area, where Mr Woods was staying.
Mr Woods has since returned to the hostel where police say he is now safe and well.
