PEOPLE are wise to walk in single file along the busy footpath between the Holden Arms and the Duke of Wellington, heading over Grane towards Blackburn, due to the terribly neglected state of the path.
Anyone attempting to push a pram or wheelchair along it would without doubt find great difficulty. If the footpath was returned to its original state, it would undoubtedly be several feet wider in places.
The terrific gusts of wind created by large vehicles travelling along this stretch of road at high speed are enough to knock people walking alongside off their feet. How someone has not been killed or injured before now is a miracle.
