BURNLEY-based Xavier Engineering is among the top newly established busineses in the North West, say the judges at the Princes Youth Business Trust.
The panel voted to give the company second place in the regional finals of the Trust's business rewards scheme.
For partners Kenneth and Paul McIlvennie the accolade, and a £200 prize, was their second award success in two months.
Earlier they picked up a second place, cash and computer in the finals of the ELTEC Extra competition for young business ventures with potential.
The brothers began the precision engineering company in 1994 and got backing from the Trust both to set up the business and, more recently, for expansion plans.
Starting the business rescued Kenneth from the dole queue after he was made redundant.
He and Paul have since been able to give full time jobs to two other people who were also out of work.
