MORE than 100 people have pledged to take on the ultimate challenge - to raise cash for SuperScan.
Last month the Chairman's Challenge was launched by Mike Trickett, spearheading the bid to raise £1 million for an MRI scanner in East Lancs.
He is encouraging people to take part in any four disciplines, ranging from a severe test of fell walking to cross country rambling, swimming and cycling.
More than 50 people have already pledged to walk 15 miles of the Pennine Way.
The walk starts from The Buck in Malham, by signing the book in the bar.
It then wends its way past Malham Scar, round Malham Tarn and Fountains Fell and eventually over Pen-y-Ghent to drop down into Horton-in-Ribblesdale. There walkers will sign off in the book in the Crown Hotel. The time allowed should not exceed 12 hours.
More than 25 people are tackling the Four Peaks walk, aimed at experienced fell walkers.
The target is to climb the four Scafell Pike, Scafell, Helvellyn and Skiddaw. Time allowed is 48 hours or three consecutive days.
Swimmers are also taking the plunge. The challenge is to swim one mile in your local baths in less than an hour. About 25 people have committed themselves.
Cycling is the final discipline and there are four local routes, each of about 25 miles. Each route has a time limit of 25 hours.
All the routes are circular and entrants may start/finish at the most convenient point for them.
