A GREAT deal of anger has been aroused by the disruption of television reception caused by the newly-erected stands at Burnley Football Club.
It is thought that as many as 250 households are affected.
Both the club and Burnley Council must have been made aware of this potential problem at the planning stage.
Yet, no provision has been made to resolve it, even though other football clubs have come across these problems and, as far as we are aware, have put matters right at their own expense. Burnley FC director Clive Holt, supported by Burnley MP Peter Pike, has suggested that those in the worst-affected area pay a contractor appointed by the club between £15 and £50 for new aerials and the rest should sort it out for themselves.
This seems a rather cavalier attitude.
After all, if you cause others to suffer you say you're sorry and put the matter right without sending them a bill.
Well, you would if you were a good neighbour, wouldn't you? Especially when many of those affected are elderly and do not have the resources to pay for new aerials.
