BLACKBURN Hawks have added a familiar sporting name to their ranks for the coming ice hockey season.
Tom Burridge - son of much-travelled soccer goalkeeper John - has joined the Hawks squad.
Seventeen-year-old Tom, a forward, is a player of considerable promise: "Tom has agreed to join us and we are delighted to have him on board," said manager Mike Cockayne.
"I understand his dad is off on a football coaching job in the Far East, but Tom is staying here to progress his ice hockey career."
Hawks play the second leg of their North West Challenge Cup tie with Altrincham Aces at the Arena on Sunday night (face off 6pm).
Hawks trail 11-6 from last weekend's first leg.
Arena officials have reduced prices to £3 (£2 concessions) for the match and spectators are also invited to a live music show in the bar afterwards as a welcome to the new season.
Season tickets for the forthcoming campaign are also available.
