LOW-COST shopping arrives in Cleveleys today (September 19) with the opening of a new Lidl store. The German-owned food discounter is hoping to emulate the success of its Blackpool store, which was launched earlier this year.
It is looking forward to providing the same service to customers from the northern end of the Fylde Coast, as well as providing jobs for more than 20 locals.
Lidl is already well known in Germany, France, Italy and Spain and has shown its commitment to the UK through an active building programme - 100 stores nationwide during the first 22 months of trading in this country.
Julie Porter, regional director of Lidl in the North, reaffirmed the company's strength in the region by saying: "The opening of the Cleveleys store underlines our commitment to the North where we are already represented in Blackpool.
"We look forward to welcoming new customers from the Cleveleys area and we are confident of a welcome from them.
"In our experience news travels fast about the excellent value products we sell and consumers who visit once to check out the prices become regular customers because of the high quality of the products."
Lidl's concept is to offer a limited range of top products at deeply discounted prices, all without compromising on good quality and excellent freshness.
The company keeps things simple with a no-fuss approach and offering a limited range of products means the company can buy in greater quantity and pass the savings on to the customer.
In addition, everything is backed by a no quibble money-back guarantee and a cash only policy means customers can save up to 40 per cent on their normal shopping bill.
Lidl is open from 9am-6pm Monday to Wednesday, 9am-7pm Thursday and Friday, 8.30am-6pm on Saturdays.
