KIND-hearted licencees of Atherton pubs have raised £500 towards a headstone for the final resting place of tiny Ellise Martin who died in August, aged three months - a tragic victim of cot-death.
Now her mum Nicola, former landlady of the Red Lion in Atherton and who now lives in Lilford Street, and Nicola's sister, Zoe Myers of Leigh Road, have pledged their backing to raise cash for cot-death research.
And they have called on members of the public to visit the Pendle Witch pub in Atherton on Sunday lunchtime to support a pool and darts tournament.
The pair also wants massive support for a special charity night which has been fixed for October 24 at the Kings Head, and are hoping to entice a number of celebrities from TV and sport to drop in for the event which starts at 8pm.
And there is even a chance to win a microwave and TV set in a special draw.
Nicola said: "I lost my daughter on August 19, and it is devastating. I want as many people as possible to help raise lots of money for cot-death research.
"The money raised can make a difference in the long run and can, perhaps, stop this terrible thing happening to someone else."
