DETECTIVES have used police psychologists to build a clear personality profile of Janet Murgatroyd's killer.
It is now thought the murder was carried out by a young man with a history of violence towards women.
Superintendent Graham Gooch, leading the investigation, said: "As this sort of person gets older and commits more attacks they learn from being caught and convicted," said Mr Gooch.
Janet's university links are now being investigated.
