STAFF at Marsden Building Society, King William Street, Blackburn, were held up at knife-point by a raider who escaped with a large amount of cash.
Education minister Kenneth Baker visited Burnley's doomed Stoneyholme Junior School to see for himself the unacceptable face of local education. It was part of a fact-finding trip to East Lancashire. He also visited Blackburn's Notre Dame High School and Blackburn College.
