THERE'S plenty happening at Newton Community High School in this the school's twenty-fifth anniversary year.
This week the school has taken delivery of a new seventeen seater LDV diesel minibus supplied by Rylands Rover of Warrington.
Funding for the bus is coming from a variety of school projects, but the school is hoping that a major contribution will come from a sponsored walk being organised for next April. Since the school has taken the new minibus on a five year lease contract, proceeds from the sponsored walk will hopefully help to cover costs.
Headteacher, Mr Peter Reed, commented "...pupil safety here is paramount and the new minibus complies with all new government regulations. In addition all members of staff driving the minibus are in the process of completing the local authorities' own minibus driver training programme."
The new minibus will take the place of the existing fourteen seater vehicle which is now six years old and as a regularly serviced minibus this will prove a sound buy for anyone wishing to purchase it. Interested parties should contact Amanda Riley the school's Business Manager on 01925 227209.
