ANY real Rovers supporter might think that the iron monstrosity of Ewood Park that I can see through my lounge window is a godsend.
But how do you explain to our two young children why they can't have a lovely house with a bedroom each and a garden to play in?
When we moved here six years ago with one baby, our two-bed terrace house was adequate.
We only wished to stay until another child came along because the house isn't big enough to swing a cat in, let alone to bring up two children in. So, when the time came, we tried to sell. We even put the house on the market for £2,000 less than we paid, although we had done thousands of pounds of work to it. No-one even came to look.
So then, we spent hundreds of pounds trying to part-exchange. Each time, the other party wouldn't even make an offer - they said the football ground would make it impossible for them to sell and they wouldn't touch it with a bargepole!
You couldn't see or hear the ground when we moved in.
Now, we have enough money for a gorgeous house for the children - but not a chance in hell of getting out of this one.
So I say to Uncle Jack: "It's certainly not a 'nice one' from where we are sitting."
