TRAVEL giant Airtours has taken on five new recruits through the XTEND training programme.
They will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of 20-year-old former Clitheroe Grammar School girl Mary Greenwood.
Mary, from Sabden, joined the company after completing A-levels and rose from clerical assistant to brochure production assistant with the help of training under the programme.
Mary said: "Thanks to XTEND I have got a job with prospects and can earn while I learn.
"I have already achieved my Level 2 NVQ in Travel and Tourism and am hoping to study for professional marketing qualifications."
The five new XTEND trainees are Stuart Dearden, from Edenfield, Gemma Manley, from Padiham, Emma Duff, from Whalley, Leeann Cutting, from Bacup and Michelle Hargreaves from Baxenden.
The company is due to take on a sixth trainee under the scheme.
