PRAISING the Thatcher era, Walt Meadows (Letters, September 14) emphasises that Tories aren't hypocrites. None of them?
He either has a memory problem or his devotion to the Baroness blinds him from the truth.
Go back, Mr Meadows, a few months only, to the sight (extensively covered on TV news) of Thatcher taking her place at a reception held to honour Nelson Mandela's first state visit to London.
For well over a decade, as Prime Minister, she consistently opposed international efforts to help end apartheid because, in her opinion, Mandela was a terrorist - Hypocrisy?
