IN my working life, I have worked on both private and council projects - on all of which there was a clerk of works.
His job was to check out all completed work as well as analysing all mixings such as concrete, plaster, tarmacadam, etc.
If any job did not measure up, he would not pass it.
Can I ask, then, what were the duties of the clerk of works on both Blackburn's Town Hall tower and the Ainsworth Street disasters?
Could we have some answers from Blackburn Council.
Have the said people been called to task? If not, why not?
R BUTLER (Mr), Denville Road, Blackburn.
