A FAMILY searching for a missing brother hope his birthday will help draw their quest to an end.

The three orphaned sons of late Lancashire woman Sandra Lord only discovered they had another brother at a family reunion with their cousin last year.

Their cousin told the Heywood-born lads that she had seen their mother hand another baby boy over to adoptive parents in a limousine. An anonymous tipster later claimed he was now living in Blackburn.

But so far their search has been fruitless and brothers Tony, Harry and Ronald hope the birthday of their brother, Michael, tomorrow, may make him realise his identity.

The three brothers changed their name to Fleming after being adopted by an aunt in America.

Michael, who was born on September 22, 1951, is also believed to have changed his name after adoption in England. Ronald Fleming now a Colonel in the US Marines, has managed to discover that his brother's National Health number was MYCL 196.

His research has also shown that the person with that National Health number is still alive and well.

And he has appealed through the Lancashire Evening Telegraph saying: "I am endeavouring to trace a Mr Michael Lord, born on the above date. He was later adopted and the name was changed.

"You have three brothers residing in the USA who only recently learned of your existence. They have earnestly sought you for the past three and a half years.

"It is appreciated that you might wish to retain your privacy and would honour your wishes.

"But we would appreciate some communication indicating that you are well and happy.

"Please get in touch one way or another. I am sure you would have no regrets from meting your brothers and other members of the family."
