MORE than 80 per cent of pupils completing their sixth form studies at St Theodore's RC High School, Burnley, are now studying at colleges and universities.
Deputy head Pat McKiernan, praised the pupils at a presentation night when certificates, trophies and special prizes were given by guest speaker, head of St Hilda's RC High School, Burnley, Miss Bernadette Bleasdale.
Besides the pupils who have entered higher education, others have gone on to the Metropolitan Police, civil service, Royal Marines, nurse training and one is a technical engineer with the Rover group.
Sebastian Ward has taken a more unusual route and is currently completing a transatlantic crossing aboard the sail training ship Astrid.
Mr McKiernan said he was delighted with how well the students had done and it had been an excellent year for A-level and GCSE results.
He thanked the parents for giving help and support to the school and hoped the students realised the part their parents had played in their success.
Mr McKiernan wished the students well in the next stage of their lives and added: "You are a part of St Theodore's and St Theodore's is a part of you."
