REMPLOY, the country's biggest employer of disabled people, is to implement a significant investment in information technology.
Amalgamated Packaging in Burnley, a subsidiary of the company, will be one of the first factories to benefit from the new computerised Integrated Business Information System (IBIS), which will make all aspects of its operation more efficient.
Remploy employs around 8,000 disabled people throughout the country, but says accurate and speedy information is essential to its continued success.
The system will 'go live' in October and management say it will improve customer service, staff satisfaction and hopefully provide more long-term jobs for people with disabilities.
