A MAN has been arrested and is waiting to be interviewed by police in connection with a serious assault which left father-of-two Dean Prescott in intensive care.
Mr Prescott, 27, of Thursby Road, is on a life support machine in North Manchester General Hospital.
His wife Karen and mother Jean Massey are at his bedside.
He received serious head injuries in an incident outside the VIPs Club, Bethesda Street, Burnley, at 1.30am on Sunday.
His condition was initially critical, but improved slightly today. He was described as "serious but stable". Acting Detective Inspector Terry Walne said: "A man was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident and is due to be interviewed today."
Police are still appealing for more witnesses to come forward and in particular a crowd of seven people who were seen on the corner of Bethesda Street and St James Street at the time of the incident.
