MORE than one in ten injury accidents on Lancashire's roads this year have involved speeding motorists.
The figure was revealed by police at the start of the Department of Transport's national Kill Your Speed campaign today.
Between January and August, 432 of the 3,934 injury accidents in Lancashire involved speeding and 16 died.
Accident prevention officer Inspector Peter Stas said although drinking and driving had become socially unacceptable, many still believed they were unlucky to be stopped for speeding.
He added: "This force will vigorously enforce speed limits. It is not a game, so don't pay the penalty."
