Big match preview 2: Burnley v Charlton Athletic
DEFIANT Adrian Heath has warned Coca-Cola Cup opponents Charlton Athletic: "Write us off at your peril."
Burnley take on Alan Curbishley's First Division outfit in tonight's second round, second leg clash at Turf Moor praying for a minor miracle.
The Clarets are 4-1 adrift from the first leg at the Valley a week ago.
But the Turf Moor chief Burnley still believes Burnley can make it into Thursday's round three draw.
"Who's to say we can't win 3-0. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest," blasted Heath.
"I've said to the players that we can still do it. There can be no doubt that we have left ourselves with a mountain to climb but the situation is not irredeemable. "Anything is possible in a cup tie. If we can get an early goal then all of a sudden there's a game on."
Heath will delay a decision on his starting line-up with Damian Matthew facing a late fitness test on a leg injury which forced him to miss the 0-0 draw at Chesterfield.
Gerry Harrison was also a doubt today after he was substituted with a "dead leg" at Saltergate.
Heath added: "Tonight is going to be difficult. Charlton won't come to Turf Moor with a cavalier attitude. They did their work last week.
"But I don't think for a minute that Alan Curbishley will think the job is done yet.
"They'll defend their advantage. But I can promise our fans that we'll give it a good go tonight.
"If we can't win the tie, then let's win the leg. I feel it's vitally important that we keep winning at home."
