YOUNG people are invited to 'come dancing' as the flavour of Latin America comes to town.
Graham Vernon, a former Open British Formation Champion and captain of the famous Greater Manchester Latin Team who have regularly appeared on BBC's Come Dancing programme, has formed the Lancashire Youth Latin Formation team and is looking for new members.
He said: "Over the last three years, all the great British formation teams have been disbanded which is a great shame, especially if dancing gains its sports status and is entered in the Olympic Games.
"There are a lot of talented children who would love to take part in a formation team but there are no facilities or sponsorship available for them." Pupils of the newly formed group, who train at Blackburn Dance Centre, were invited to dance at this year's Red Ribbon Ball in aid of the Anthony Abbott Trust Fund.
The group is currently being funded by parents and cash raised from team demonstrations in the region so any donations or support would be welcomed.
Former trainer of the Greater Manchester team Bob Dale said: "Graham has a lot of talent as a dancer, teacher and coach. I'm sure he will turn out highly polished routines and great championship dancers. I wish them all the luck in the world."
Graham is looking for new members between the ages of eight and 16 to join the team.
Anyone interested in joining or sponsoring the team should contact Burnley 779116.
