PRESTON Grasshoppers rugby union squad put on a sound display after opening up a 15-point lead on the half hour.
Steve Kerry and Jamie Morley exchanged penalties before a second Kerry penalty took Hoppers into the lead.
Mike Bailey stole the ball at a line out to cross for an unconverted try. A second try followed when Nigel Borowski won the race to a Kerry ground kick and touched down.
Sheffield spent most of the second period on the attack running the ball and reducing the arrears with an unconverted try midway through the half.
But Hoppers tackling was impressive and they held out to maintain their 100 per cent record.
Next Saturday, Hoppers travel to Nuneaton for the next Courage League game. Hopper's Pilkington Cup win against Stoke-on-Trent earns them an away second round tie at New Brighton on October 12.
