SHOPPING precinct bosses hope to celebrate this year's Christmas festivities with the completion of the multi-million pound refurbishment.
The £15 million revamp of Blackburn's precinct was delayed a year while owners Standard Life Assurance found another company to supply exterior tiles for the centre.
Two other firms, Welsh company Lappec and GEC from Italy, went bust before the work on replacing the precinct's original white tiles was finished.
But now Dublin-based Techcrete has accepted the contract and aims to be finished by the festive season.
Tim Cressey, a senior Standard Life surveyor, said: "We are disappointed as the original completion date was last September but the people in Blackburn must be able to see for themselves what an improvement the new cladding is."
Standard Life say the delay has not cost them any extra cash, unlike Blackburn Council who had to fork out £420,000 to replace faulty cladding on the new town hall.
