STUDENT Alison Holme's winning ways of getting to know information has earned her a top prize.
She became the regional winner of a competition organised through Shell UK to find the most enterprising students in the land.
Alison comes from Nelson and is currently studying marketing and law at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Her award-winning project involved work for Dale Polymers Ltd, a rubber goods manufacturer in Accrington.
The company's order books went up by £1,700 a week after Alison carried out a market survey to increase the firm's understanding of its customers' needs and so target sales.
The predicted increase in Dale Polymer's turnover for 1997 is 12.5 per cent, the equivalent to a £200,000 increase in sales.
She joined the firm through a placement scheme with the Shell Technology Enterprise Programme.
