PUPILS are celebrating after receiving a special gift from millionaire Harrods boss Mohammed Al Fayed.
The tycoon promised Town House Special School in Nelson a washing machine and dryer when he heard they had launched a fund raising campaign to buy the equipment.
Mr Al Fayed has now had the machines delivered from his world-famous store after hearing of the school's plight through his friend, Derek Howells, of the Alma Inn, Laneshawbridge.
Mr Howells campaigned to persuade the Government to grant the tycoon British citizenship and the two have remained close friends.
School nursery nurse Margaret Halliwell said: "We can't thank him enough."
