But they battled well before falling 37-22 to St Jude's. Both sides of the break St Jude's build up commanding leads only for East to dig deep and force a way back.
Tries from Brennan and Pilkington in the first half and Gunning, Fishwick and Penkywicz in the second kept East with a shout.
