THE Headteacher of Culcheth High School will not be returning to work.
Hiliary Douglas, who has been head for seven years, wants to retire early on health grounds.
She was suspended from her post in June.
After a special meeting of school governors, a spokesman for Cheshire County Council told The Journal:
"We can confirm that the headteacher at Culcheth High School has applied to take early retirement on the grounds of ill health.
"The report on management issues at the school will not be issued to the Governing Body until a decision on that application is known. Investigations by County Council Auditors will continue."
There is no suggestion of financial impropriety by Mrs Douglas.
