A WOMAN from the Parr area of St Helens has scooped the jackpot of £50,000 on a Littlewoods Pools Charity Scratchcard.
The middle-aged woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought her £1 ticket from a newsagent's in McCormack Avenue, Parr, over the weekend, and can now look forward to spending her unexpected windfall.
Liz Pendleton, from Littlewoods Pools, told the Star: "The scratch card she chose to buy was a charity card and of every pound spent on them, we give 24p to the named charity, in this case, Disabled Living. However, now someone has won with one of their cards, the charity will receive a cheque for £240,000 at the end of the month and all the money is spent caring for the local community."
