FORM suggests Burnley will just have the edge over Bristol City, who travel to Turf Moor on Saturday (September 28)
The Robins, just three points behind the Clarets, are finding things difficult when they go away, and Burnley will be the last place they want to play.
The Clarets' strong home support could give them the advantage in what looks likely to be a tight game. Only one goal was scored in the teams' two matches last season - Burnley won 1-0 at Ashton Gate.
After the inevitable exit from the Coca-Cola Cup on Tuesday night, Adrian Heath's men now need to boost morale and continue the climb towards the top of the second division.
Bristol winger Brian Tinnion, who played in the Robins' 3-0 Coca-Cola Cup defeat at Bolton on Tuesday, is under no illusions about the problems faced by teams visiting Turf Moor.
"We will have to try hard at Burnley on Saturday," he said. "We think we have a good chance of making the play-offs this season, but if we play like we did at Bolton, we'll struggle. Our away form has not been the best and Burnley at home are a tough proposition."
Vince Overson, who played in the 2-1 defeat against Charlton on Tuesday, is back to fitness, and Paul Weller also made return to the Clarets' midfield in that match, but injury worries remain for Marlon Beresford and Damian Matthew.
Burnley travel to Bury on Tuesday night (October 1), while the reserves go to Shrewsbury the following day.
