CHILDREN from a special school in Burnley have been recording their favourite songs on to a tape to sell to their parents.
Primrose Hill is the first special school to take part in the project organised by the Rockenbay Song and Dance Company, based in the East Lancashire into Employment building in Cavour Street, Burnley.
More than 200 schools across the country have been given the chance to record their own music, which is then processed, edited and copied at the studios.
A dozen of the youngsters from Primrose Hill were also invited to see their tape being duplicated and prepared for sale.
Entitled 'We Can Do Anything,' the tape features all of the school children. Those who struggle with speech play percussion instruments or operate a touch talker to introduce the songs.
Rockenbay was set up a year ago and is run by engineers Mark Whitehead and Paul Marks. Their innovative school music idea has already featured in an article in the Times Educational Supplement.
