REDUNDANCIES are going to be inevitable at Calderstones Hospital as patients are re-settled into the community, but management chiefs are hoping to keep total job losses to a minimum.
Plans for creating jobs in newly-developing caring services across the region to reduce the number of redundancies from the Ribble Valley hospital were pointed out at the Calderstones NHS Trust's annual meeting.
Mr Russ Pearce, the trust's new chief executive, agreed that many members of staff faced uncertain futures as the re-settlement programme progresses but highlighted new initiatives such as a job centre, re-deployment officer and extensive training and development opportunities which had been put in place to help support employees.
