EAST Lancashire Cub Scouts are getting ready to go globe-trotting to celebrate the 80th birthday of the Cubs.
They will join Cubs from all over the UK who are taking part in the Cub Scout birthday challenge to travel the world in 80 days.
Several Cub groups across East Lancashire have signed up to take part in the challenge, which runs until December 16 - the official birthday of the Cub Scout movement.
The challenge is desgined to celebrate the fact that scouting is now a world-wide movement.
Deputy District Commissioner for East Lancashire Joyce Flitcroft said: "The idea is that the Scouts choose at least five countries to feature for special theme nights.
"Each is tailored to a certain country so they could make a Chinese meal, or learn about Indian culture. It will help teach Cubs more about the cultures of different countries."
