LANCASHIRE League champions Rishton have targeted South African pace bowler Lance Klusener to replace Allan Donald as professional.
The club are waiting to hear back from the 24-year-old aggressive all-rounder from Natal.
But Klusener, who toured England this summer with the South Africa 'A' squad, is also the target of other clubs - notably Blackpool in the Vaux Northern League.
And English counties are also believed to have expressed an interest in his services for next summer.
Klusener was recommended to the club by 1977 professional Duncan Fletcher.
And he is keen to extend his experience of English conditions before the South African Test side tours England in 1998.
Rishton chairman Rod Simpson said: "We have been in negotiations with Lance Klusener but as yet he has not decided to sign.
"Duncan Fletcher was the coach on the A tour and told him what a wonderful time he had at Rishton."
