Blackburn Rovers have denied a fresh approach for German superstar Jurgen Klinsmann.
Reports in Germany say that Klinsmann, substituted five times in the last eight matches, is being offered to top British clubs on a free transfer.
And German newspapers were today strongly linking Klinsmann with a move to either Arsenal, Everton - or Ewood Park.
The Bayern Munich star is understood to have negotiated a "get-out" clause enabling him to move on at the end of the season.
Klinsmann was taken off again on Saturday during the 3-0 defeat at Werder Bremen. Now, if he departs on a free, the striker would pocket around £1m in a signing-on fee plus an annual salary of £250,000!
But the contract change and activities of Klinsmann's agent have angered Bayern boss Uli Hoeness who confirmed today: "His business manager has offered him to some English clubs."
Meanwhile, Ewood sources have confirmed that Jeff Kenna is not a long term Blackburn Rovers injury doubt.
And the defender could be fit for the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Macedonia in Dublin a week tomorrow.
Kenna's knee ligament injury was a closely-guarded secret before Saturday's stalemate at Coventry.
But assistant manager Tony Parkes confirmed that Kenna's injury was not as serious as first feared. He said: "Jeff is making good progress and he is on course to be fit for the Republic's fixture. He twisted his knee in training and that caused him a problem. But there's no question that the injury is going to keep Jeff out for a long time.
"If he doesn't make it in time for Ireland then he will be definitely right for our next Premiership game against Arsenal."
Rovers mounting injury crisis has scuppered Preston North End's hopes of taking teenage striker James Beattie on loan to Deepdale. Preston manager Gary Peters was hoping to land Beattie this week but Ray Harford has decided he cannot afford to let the youngster go out.
Peters said: "We wouldn't have been able to buy him. But, like David Beckham, he could have given us some real quality for a month."
Chris Coleman was due to leave hospital today following surgery on his ruptured Achilles tendon.
Coleman was stretchered off at Highfield Road and was admitted for surgery on Sunday.
Parkes added: "Chris will be in plaster for around six to seven weeks and then he faces a lot of rehabilitation.
"You can't give a definite period of time that he will be ruled out for but, realistically, that's it for the rest of the season I would think.
"If Chris gets back before the end of this season it will be a huge bonus for us."
Newcastle have extended England Under-21 midfielder Chris Holland's loan spell with BIrmingham for a second month. Birmingham have now been forced to call off next Tuesday's rescheduled match at Huddersfield due to international call-ups. Whalley-born Holland is on duty with the England Under-21s.
Gary Speed and Kit Symons are favourites to replace Ryan Giggs and Coleman when Wales face Holland at Cardiff this Saturday. Giggs misses Saturday's group seven fixture through suspension.
