A YOUNG girl who nearly died in a serious road accident is back home with her family.
Six-year-old Zoe Wilson was in a critical condition in intensive care suffering from serious head injuries and a broken leg after colliding with a car as she crossed a busy road in Blackburn.
The youngster has made an amazing recovery in Preston Royal Hospital and is now reunited at home with her relieved parents Alison and Terry and four-year-old sister Amy, who also received minor injuries in the accident.
Mum Alison, 25, said: "Everyone is over the moon that Zoe is home. She was getting fed up in hospital and missing everyone. Since she has been home, she is more like her normal self." Wheelchair-bound Zoe, who is due to go back into hospital to have her leg brace removed and for physiotherapy sessions for her knee, is making the most of her time at home in Mulberry Walk, Blackburn.
Alison said: "She is watching her favourite videos and playing on her computer. Her friends have been round to see her and a schoolteacher visits to help her keep up with her schoolwork.
"I want to thank her grandparents, school friends and neighbours for all they have done to help Zoe back on the road to recovery."
