EIGHTY ONE people are sleeping in comfort, thanks to the efforts of furniture store organisers.
The new Hyndburn enterprise, which invites people to donate household articles and then delivers them to needy folk, was launched on a trial basis in May, with premises in Newark Street, Accrington.
In addition to rehousing 81 beds, it has also collected and delivered 48 three piece suites, 30 fridges, 12 washing machines, 20 cookers, 16 chairs, crockery, bedding and carpets.
It is funded by Hyndburn Borough Council and has received special help from the youth services and Hyndburn Christian Stables.
Coun Bill Goldsmith said: "It has been a huge success and we want it to be even more successful.
"We provide the goods for homeless people or anybody who finds themselves without furniture for any reason."
People who want to donate items or offer their time to help with the store should contact 01254 232893.
