ANGRY market traders signed a petition to halt the renaming of a street after South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela.
The 500 of protesters against the move by Blackburn Council to change Market Avenue to Mandela Way said they were willing to take the issue to the courts.
Six people escaped unhurt after a breakfast-time blaze in Maitland Place, Rawtenstall, which started in a waste paper bin.
