IDO not think that I, as a young adult, was treated fairly when I issued a complaint to a manager of Apollo Cinemas, Blackburn.
There was a disturbance throughout the entire performance, resulting in a lack of enjoyment of the film.
After the performance, I brought the situation to a member of management's attention.
He told me that I should have informed him of the disturbance during the film. If I had done so, I would have missed a majority of the film. I was told I could not obtain a full cash refund or alternative.
I did not receive any form of apology and I was absolutely disgusted with his attitude towards me - which was probably because I look young for my age, and I felt penalised for it. It is expensive to go to the Cinema and for my money, I expect an excellent standard of service, which includes noise control during the showing of the picture.
NICOLA A WILSON (aged 22), Stonyhurst Close, Blackburn.
Footnote: A spokesman for Blackburn's Apollo Cinema said that Ms Wilson would have been offered a complimentary pass for another showing of the film, or any other film of her choice, had she informed management of the problem during the screening. Management would also have dealt with the people causing the disturbance. However, he added that it was against company policy to issue refunds after a film has been shown.
