IAM carrying out research into a property called Skelwith Fold, which was situated near Clappersgate, Ambleside.
The original house was built in 1890 by the Marshall family, who appear to have lived in it for most, possibly all, of its history.
At some point in the 1950s, the property was demolished and the grounds turned into Skelwith Fold caravan park.
I would be keen to hear from any of your readers who may have memories or pictures of the house and its residents. This would greatly help me with my research.
