AN UPROAR over a decision by Blackburn Council to change the name of Market Avenue to Mandela Way continued as councillors asked protesters to examine their consciences.
In a statement, they said the re-naming was costing £100, a fraction of the £30,000 being spent on Christmas decorations to attract trade. They explained the gesture was in support of the struggle of the oppressed.
