WILPSHIRE won Manchester junior golf's top prize for the second time in three years after twice fighting back from the brink of defeat in the Ian Anthony Challenge Trophy at Lowes Park.
Ben Slavin, son of Wilpshire professional Walter, clawed back from one down on the 18th tee to square his match and the tie against Ringway ion the semis, winning on the first extra hole.
And 17-year-old Chris Haigh came from three down with five to play to also win on the first extra hole.
Crompton and Royton also had the edge in the final, leading 3-2, before Haigh demolished Karen Keogh 5 and 4. Captain Liam Haworth steered his side home 3 and 2 in the final match.
