FROM splendid Pendle Hill to the picturesque village of Downham or the impressive Stonyhurst College, few would argue that East Lancashire features some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.
Artist John Corcoran is well known for re-creating the area's magnificent landscapes on canvas and now amateur photographers are being challenged to capture it on film.
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph has joined forces with Lancashire Hill Country to find the photos that capture perfectly the county's character. Photographers have the chance for their work to be seen around the world in a Lancashire Hill Country tourism publication.
And there is also a £100 prize for the winner, £50 for second prize and numerous other prizes, including meal vouchers.
Pictures can be taken anywhere in Lancashire and feature landscapes, buildings and architecture, events and festivals, local characters and culture, or crafts and food.
Photographs must have been taken during the last year.
The closing date is Saturday October 19. Entries should be sent to: Lancashire's Hill Country Photography Competition, c/o Promotions Department, Lancashire Evening Telegraph, High Street, Blackburn, BB1 1HT.
