HAVING followed his father Judge Ian Webster to the Bar, Alistair Webster QC is now working his way up the judicial ladder.
Mr Webster, a father-of-two, will be sworn in as a Recorder at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday, watched by proud Judge Webster and his wife, Margaret.
Mr Webster, who lives in Rochdale with his family, was called to the Bar in 1976 and has served as an Assistant Recorder for five years. He was made a Queen's Counsel last year.
Mr Webster, 43, is a former pupil of Hulme Grammar School, Oldham, and went on to Oxford University. He is a keen Burnley FC fan.
Judge Webster, 71, who is also Rochdale born and bred, is the former Honorary Recorder of Burnley. He still sits as a deputy circuit judge.
