ACCRINGTON STANLEY 3 HYDE UNITED 2
PETER Smith grabbed an injury time winner to give Stanley the points in a topsy-turvy game against one of the top sides in the Premier League.
Stanley took the lead after eight minutes when Brian Welch's shot from the edge of the area took a deflection and gave the keeper no chance.
But Hyde battled back.
On 30 minutes when they won a corner and McKenna making his debut in the Stanley goal failed to collect. Fortunately the resulting shot was blocked on the line.
Six minutes later Ged Kimmins was put through but his lob was easily saved by McKenna.
McKenna was brought into action again on 41 minutes when he saved well at his near post. But in injury time Chris Molloy was penalised for holding his his own box and Hyde levelled the scores from the spot.
The visitors wasted a fine chance to go in front shooting wide after McKenna had been rounded after 51 minutes.
Stanley took full advantage and six minutes later Stanley went back in front.
Welch's cross from the left was met by Brett Ormerod whose shot was parried and Neil Edmonds knocked in the rebound.
On 81 minutes Hyde equalised with two of their subs having a hand in the goal.
And three minutes they should have gone ahead but Jimmy Cameron wasted a great chance.
That miss was costly when in injury time Welch crossed from the left and Smith fired home to seal victory.
