A TIME off for Women Festival which is to take place in Leigh and other parts of the borough later this month has received the blessing of the council's Leisure Services Department.
For the Sports Development and Libraries divisions are working with the Time Off for Women Group to organise a packed programme of events between Thursday, October 24 to Wednesday, October 30.
During that week women are being encouraged to join in such activities as step aerobics, water aerobics, gentle exercise and relaxation classes, swimming, coffee afternoons and a host of other free activities.
A full programme can be obtained from all local libraries.
Lisa Liggins, Sports Development Officer, said: "We are very pleased to support the Time Off for Women group. many women, especially those with young children, often neglect their own leisure needs. By providing a wide variety of free and low priced activities we are looking forward to many more women in the borough taking time out of their daily routine to enjoy some leisure time."
