TWELVE new junior members known as badgers were enrolled at the annual inspections and awards night for Padiham's St John Ambulance Brigade.
At the event, at Padiham's Nazareth Unitarian Chapel, new year badges were presented for the first time to older members of the badgers.
Cadets received prizes in appreciation of the work and commitment they have shown to St John, and these were a special purse for the girls and a torch or pen for the boys.
A surprise presentation was made to Alan Fenton, who retired earlier this year after 10 years' service.
He started at Clitheroe and transferred to Padiham in 1993.
Padiham division carried out more than 1,335 hours first aid duties and 596 hours of other duties during 1995. So far this year the division has completed 872 hours first aid duties and 327 hours of other duties.
