A SEVEN-GOAL thriller had both sets of fans riveted as we saw two amazing fightbacks.
In the end Preston crashed to a 4-3 home defeat to battling Peterborough.
Posh had the chance to take the lead after just two minutes, but O'Connor sent his spot kick wide of the post.
They stuck to the task, however, and it was no surprise when Clark sent a header scorching beyond Bobby Mimms to break the deadlock.
Preston hit back, first Bryson and then Patterson hitting the woodwork.
North End boss Gary Peters sent on Michael Holt for Squires at the start of the second half and North End exploded into action with three goals in seven minutes.
Lee Ashcroft headed home from close-range and two minutes later he crashed in a fierce left-footer.
Michael Holt got into the goal action with a classic effort. At 3-1 Preston were coasting.
Posh boss Barry Fry then made three inspired substitutions - and Preston's coaster became a roller coaster to disaster.
Scott Houghton sent an 18-yard curler wide of the dive of Mimms to start the fightback and 10 minutes from tim, Charlery hit a dramatic equaliser.
The twists and turns continued. And, with three minutes remaining, Preston lost concentration at the back and Rowe, arriving at the far post, squeezed the ball past Mimms.
North End battled back in the five minutes of stoppage time, but Peterborough held firm - leaving Preston fourth from bottom.
