TOP-of-the-League Tyldesley RU romped to a comfortable 48-8 triumph against Trafford MV. They had a dream start for a fourth straight win with impressive centre Mark Swanton interception and racing 70 yards for the score, Tim Brown goaling.
Within a minute Swanton was in again, Brown adding the goal from the touchline. There was no way back for Trafford, although a lapse of concentration allowed them a try.
Darren Edge then set up winger Fraser MacIntosh, Brown again on target. And he also added the goal points from an Edge try.
Tyldesley backs looked dangerous in every phase of the game, and from a quickly-taken play-the-ball Dave Sivill chipped into space and won the race to the touchdown, Brown goaling again - his seventh in seven attempts.
Replacement Steve Palin then got on the end of a fine cross-field movement to score, Sivill banging over the conversion to round off a super show.
The previous week Tyldesley beat Vickers 22-5 with a Lee Berrisford try and goals by Brown.
Tyldesley 2nds beat Trafford MV 22-15 (Rob Harrop, Dave Peet and Craig Pulman) plus two conversions and a penalty from Graham Harrop.
The 3rds eased to a 25-6 victory over Trafford with tries from Pete Hully, Adam Featherston, Mark Dainty with wing Gary Corbutt putting in a good performance.
