QUICK-off-the-mark police officers foiled two would-be burglars who broke into Halfords Superstore on Friday, October 4.
The officers reacted to an alarm at the shop on St Helens Retail Park, Warrington New Road, and it was reported that some cycling equipment had been stolen at around 10.40pm.
A police patrol searched the surrounding area and two teenagers were eventually arrested on the railway line nearby.
The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have since been questioned and reported for summons and a criminal file has been forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service.
